The technology industry is growing and changing by the second! As a leader in technology placement, we want to help make your tech job search as easy as possible. That’s why we compiled our top 4 tips to help you land your dream career in tech.
Utilize A Recruiter
This first tip may come off as biased because we are a recruiting firm but hear us out. First, as technology recruiters, we have built relationships with hundreds of hiring managers. This means we have insight into what the hiring manager is looking for, i.e., technical and soft skills. On top of that, you essentially have more hands on deck helping you find a career. By working with a Raso Solutions recruiter, you can trust that we’ll open doors for communication and introduce you to the best job opportunities that fit your area of expertise quicker than working on your own.

Tailor Your Resume to the Job Description
As tedious as this can be, it is crucial to add similar jargon from the job description to your resume to avoid being passed on. Hiring managers are bombarded with large quantities of applications, so they usually have someone screen resumes before they even look at them. This pre-screening person will be scanning for keywords. To avoid your resume getting tossed out, take the time to find related keywords that match your skillset.
While we’re on the topic of resumes, forget about what your college professor told you about keeping your resume on one page! Depending on how much relevant experience you have, it is possible to have a 2–4-page resume.
Always Be Learning
If you want to stand out from the herd of applicants applying for the same job, continue to expand your skillset. Today, there are many courses available online that you can take and receive a certification for. This will show the hiring manager that you’re taking the initiative to expand your knowledge beyond your degree.
Expand Your Network
We’re not just talking about LinkedIn connections here! This tip applies to online and in-person networking. LinkedIn is a great place to start expanding your network, but we have found an uptick in Facebook groups. Like LinkedIn groups, Facebook has groups you can join that allow you to connect with others within tight-knit niche groups. As far as offline networking events, Facebook is a great place to learn about networking events near you.
